Design statement
A convergence of elements inspired by Corey's roots, travels, and passion for materials from nature, the structural design and layers of Kitchen Intercepted create an atmosphere of simplicity, sophistication, and casual contemporary while being contrasted with Hygge & West's wallpapers. Traditional methods of kitchen design with rigid cabinetry and planning centers are discarded for a more relaxed, modernized application of sustainability and a deep connection to materials and lifestyle.
IDS Vancouver invited Corey to participate in Open Studio, a group of curated installations that entertain the theme of “Patterns Explored.” The Interior Design Show Vancouver (IDS Vancouver) is the West’s largest design event, taking place September 28–October 1, 2017 at the Vancouver Convention Centre West. Open Studio will occupy 1600 square feet of prime exhibition space and will feature a group of handpicked designers or design firms who will all present their concepts based on this singular theme. With a 10’ x 10’ raw space as a blank canvas, we took the opportunity to take a risk with pattern and design 100 square feet that integrate your selected pattern. Hygge & West is providing selected materials that must cover a minimum of 1/3 of the walls and/or surfaces.
