Design statement
A pied-à-terre for overseas homeowners, the function and form of the space needed to accommodate the need for rest, connection to family and friends, and support travel fatigue. Inspiration was pulled from the elegance of West Coast living with a blend of smooth, shiney, and rough textures. A pie-in-the-sky-shaped condominium posed design challenges, especially with the floor pattern and orientation, that needed to consider both existing infrastructure and maximizing the spectacular city and Coal Harbour views. Removing as many interior doors as possible turned this one bedroom apartment into a luxury hotel suite.
